An inkjet printable CD R is a recordable CD made with an inkjet ink permeable coating on the upper, non-recording surface of the CD. This coating allows users to print directly onto the media, as opposed to applying an adhesive backed label. Printing of the CD is normally accomplished by using a special CD/DVD inkjet printer. When inserted into the inkjet printer, the printer is capable of reproducing appropriate text and pictures right onto the media.
Inkjet printable CD media is a great way to customize CDs. While CD media costs are typically less than DVD media costs, using a printable CD may be the best choice for reasons explained on our inkjet printable DVD R page. Eliminating the difficulty of repetitively positioning a printed label on a CD is a great benefit, but again the greatest benefit may be the fact that the CD label will not peel off in player mechanisms.
